About Mental Health America of Franklin County

Mission Statement:
Mental Health America of Franklin County is dedicated to promoting mental health, preventing mental disorders and raising awareness and understanding of mental health issues through advocacy, education and support services.

Our Organization
We are a private, not-for-profit organization established in 1956. MHAFC envisions a just, humane and healthy society in which all adults and children receive the help they need, are well informed and are accorded respect, dignity and the opportunity to achieve their full potential, free from stigma and prejudice.

We are:

• the only organization in Franklin County whose mission is to educate the public about mental health and mental illness;
• an affiliate of Mental Health America (MHA);
• a United Way of Central Ohio agency ;
• a contract agency of the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board (ADAMH) of Franklin County.

We provide a wide variety of services. For a glimpse of those we provided last year, view our Annual Report. Our IRS Form 990 is available at GuideStar, the national database of U.S. charitable organizations.

Our Board of Trustees, staff, members and volunteers include clients of mental health services and their families, educators, mental health professionals and many others.
