Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH)
Determines what mental health and recovery services are needed in
the county and provides funds to implement those services
(information/referral, education, legal rights). ADAMH's safety
net of not-for-profit contract providers cares for youth, adults
and older adults in Franklin County. A sliding-fee scale for
services is offered so that all Franklin County residents,
regardless of income, can receive the services they need. D

Consumer and Family Advocacy Council of the ADAMH Board (CFAC)

CFAC is an advocacy organization that is dedicated to becoming a
voice of consumers and families in the public mental health and
alcohol/drug system. CFAC is a voluntary group of individuals who
are either recovering from mental illness or drug and alcohol
addiction themselves, or have family members who are recovering.
CFAC provides a network of individuals for advocacy, support of
families and advice to the ADAMH staff and Board of Trustees.
Founded in 1997, CFAC serves as an important sounding board for
the ADAMH Board and for its service providers, as well as an
educator in the community on mental health and substance abuse
issues.

Mission is to assist families in the positive resolution of grief
following the death of a child and to provide information to help
others be supportive. TCF is a national nonprofit, self-help
organization with almost 600 local chapters. Meetings are open to
all family members who are grieving the death of a child. There
is no religious affiliation and no dues or fees. There is a free
chapter lending library and a free Bi-monthly newsletter. TCF
offers a safe place for bereaved parents, grandparents, and
siblings to meet and talk freely about their child and grief
issues. No one is required to speak, but non-judgmental listening
is expected.
The Central Ohio Chapter of TCF has

Provides legal assistance in civil cases to low-income
individuals who cannot afford to hire an attorney. Helps people
in the areas of family law, government benefits, housing,
consumer rights and senior citizen legal issues. There is no
charge for services, but there may be a requirment to pay certain
court costs. If referred to a private attorney, there may be a
small fee. If unable to help with problem, a referral to an
agency which may be more suitable to assist will be made. D

Update: The agency is no longer offering clinical counseling services or the DOVE program.Faith Mission provides emergency shelter to homeless, single men and women. Individuals receiving shelter also receive case management services designed to help them address their housing crisis and transition them to permanent housing.
