alternatives and practical skills, which
give them the power to make new choices-and
create a different life.
1) VD #598A, Anger, Creating New Choices:
A Closer Look
35 minutes
A closer look reveals that many things
happen before we get angry: thoughts,
beliefs, and feelings all play a crucial
role. Becoming aware of what happens before
we get angry - discovering that we do have
time to do something different - is a
crucial first step in creating new choices.
2) VD #598B, Anger, Creating New Choices:
Catch It Early
35 minutes
Jealousy and revenge are examples of
feelings which can create pictures in our
minds. These are visual thoughts, which
drive us to actions like checking up on the
suspected person. Allowing these actions to
continue feeds our anger, and can easily
lead to out-of-control aggression.
Similarly, when anger begins to grow,
adrenaline flows and major changes take
place in our bodies. Learning how to notice
these changes pictures and behaviors allows
us to see what's coming before its too late.
3) VD# 598C, Anger, Creating New Choices:
Practical Skills

Aggression can become a habit; we can invite
anger even when we don't intend it. Our
habitual body language and way of speaking
can take us down an all-too-familiar path.
Learning practical skills for "keeping
others cool" -for being assertive instead of
aggressive-opens a new door, giving us the
ability to do something different; the power
to create new choices.
Workbook includes 4 overheads: What are your
beliefs? Anger can be a smokescreen, What
were you feeling? Ways to manage anger?

videos and guides for leaders to discuss
videos.
